Suzhou Day 1

My trip to suzhou was full of suspense and fear and con. fucked up. i got conned. 1st time since i reached china, fucking 1 month in, i finally got conned. pissed.

i took a cab to the bus station.when i dropped off this guy brought me to another place via tricycle wtf right. im like wtf are u doing and was told its to a nearby place for a private bus heading to suzhou. so im like so why shoud i take yours and not the normal one, he says its the same price but faster cuz its private and so no red tape. so well if its faster n same price then so be it. the guy riding the tricycle.. poor fucking thing. im not light, my pack's heavy, and there 2 others. poor fucking thing.

so anyway, we reached and he brought me up the bus, its an express (Gao Kuai) so the seats are more comfortable, sorta like your grassland express. but the vehicle looks older than me. but its fine, i've done worst. next thing i know hes asking for 98 rmb. thats fucking daylight robbery! the bus fare at most is 50 which means he asking for 48 for the lousy tricycle ride and some directions. ROBBERY. if im on home ground, he'd get his 98 rmb albeit up his ass. so, im on unfamiliar territory right, so ok, fuck the trouble, im already in the bus,my bag's huge and its raining and my feets soaked and i dun wannna go out and get lost. let him have his 48rmb (about 10sgd). i gave him a 100note, and he didnt even bother to change. 2rmb still wanna take. tsk tsk tsk. nvm. let him have it, earn some karma. nice thing is the driver (apparently they not in cahoots) asked if he gave me my change, i said no but let it be. nice guys. made me feel better abit.

While waiting for the bus to go, i saw another me and another conman. the other me is chinse, abit more guts, he screamd like "WHAT 98!?!?! FORGET IT IM GETTING OFF" and pushed his way down, but conman#2 blocked him and they got in a pulling/pushing/staring match. exactly what i'm trying to avoid. in the end he got off. but sneaked up after 10 mins. lol that dudes smart and he sat beside me. but he was anxious and kept looking around haha fun times.

I was anxious on the bus also not very sure where in suzhou they gonna drop me so i kept looking around. sadly it was raining , i cant see the signs outside. meaning i cant do anything really. just sit and wait. so i went to sleep. fuck it. when we arrived, he dropped us in suzhou but i have no idea where i am. theres no cabs anywhere also so i figured we're not anywhere legal nor in town. luckily theres this mercenary driver and i mean mercenary. the lady he asked turned him down (stupid, cuz there no other vehicles in sight other than a bus stop with god knows what bus) and i hopped on. i didnt know exactly where so i told him the area, he told me 30rmb, its ex, but im not giving up my ride. on the way he called my hostel and got the address. and told me its further. im like wtf and replied its only 2 fucking lanes away and pls dun lie to me cuz i have a fucking map on my hands u dimwit. ok i didnt say the last word. but he was trying to convince me to which i told him whetever if its money you want, its money u get, i cant be bothered to argue with you and he got guilty and embarrassed and said just pay him what i think is fair. i WIN! RAH!

my hostel is called water town hostel. got my room, twin bed but common washroom which is right outside. no complaints. nothing eventful, went to Shan Tang Lu which is where the buildings are by the river. niceeeee! but its dark and i cant really shoot much. had power dinner and thast about it.
