Beijing Day 2

Great wall is awesome!
Took a cable car up. and walk milesssssss. took a really loong time cuz i kept stopping to take pictures. its really awesome. its autumn so almost everything is brown. the wall itself is magnificent. the bricks used were large, makes u wonder how they transported so many of them up so high. anyways, we picked a direction and walked to the end. the end is really a danger area where reconstruction hasnt been done. its high up and biting cold. the steps leading to that point is also small and steep. scary, until i met Huashan later on in the journey. (thats another story). On the way back, i bought a nice mongol hat lol. the kind where u have 2 flaps that covers ur ears. fun. but useless for me.

The Great Wall

Lunch was awesome. went to this Greenhouse like place.
I can eat thatg dish everyday. it has like cashew nuts in it, so its sweet and fat lol. but awesome.

Went to see the Birds Nest Stadium after that. Its really funny, cuz everyones saying we cant get in, not even into the compound. but we saw this tent selling tix to get into the coumpund, so we snapped it up, walk a huge round to the entrance where we learnt its free to just go in. fuck. and the guy was funny, he was on a loud speaker shouting "its free, dont buy the tickets!" . too late. money spent. cuz hes on the other side of the compound from the guys selling the tix. very smart.

I must admit, the stadium was really marvelously done. spectacular indeed. I can imagine how its gonna look with the lights on at night. The chinese have got sometime for lighting stuff up at night.

Its off to Beijing Opera!!!
We watched the Legend of the white snake. These guys are really good. i read abit on how the traditions of traditional opera so i was able to appreciate it abit more. besides they have Sub-fucking-titles! omfg! It was in a typical opera house, reddish interior and had tea with nuts. coolness!

Wow, Subtitles!

The place

Anyways, we went Wang Fu Jing for dinner. I aint too hungry, thats probably why i didnt eat the scorpions and shite. its a food street where they sell all sorts of wierd stuff. thats also where i got my dodgy lodging for after my sis leaves. nothing eventful, probably cuz i didnt try the funny insects or starfish. pukes. theres this chinese dude attempting to eat the scorpion, he ate it eventually after some hesitation, prolly cuz the gf was urging him on and hes being surrounded by foreigners cheering him on and taking pictures. yes he became an exotic scorpion eating mammal in a stage surrounded by tourists. the poor bugger.
