Beijing Day 1

We reached late at night, by the time we (and my sis) got to our station (which is not the one we were supposed to alight) its really late, like 11+ pm,, and there were so little cars in sight. Hotel was huge, room was good, tho no view. but its right opposite the Beijing Train Station. rather interesting.

Next day we went summer palace in the day, well, took up most of the day. awesome place, but it gets boring and same after awhile. the lake in the summer palace which was started by emperor qianlong and continued by cixi empress dowager was REALLY huge. man made! wtf. these people really know how to enjoy at other's expense. its the 1st time i tried china sausage. it sux. is like heated compact powder in a longish shape. sux. big time.

looking at the architecture, u can tell the artisans really put in alot of effort, i guess thay had no choice, but its awesome. anyway, not much to say about this place, its boring , really boring after a while.




The Summer Palace

At nite, we went for peking duck at the famous Beijing dadong roast duck. had to wait 1 fucking hour for my seat, but was worth it. the food was awesome. and i purposly ordered smthing with good gravy but guess what, they ran out of fucking rice. wtf right. that totally pissed me off, but food is still good, so can forgive.

its hou hai at nite, a street by the imperial palace aka forbidden city. its a drinking place and there are chinese live bands everywhere, great stuff. problem is, the second im not with my sis, i get approached by ladies who want me to go god knows where.. OH and i saw this tshirt that has a volume synthesiser ! fucking cool shit! but hes asking for 200 rmb which i refuse and tried the walk away trick with didnt work. fuck. oh well. shit happens.

Am going Great Wall tomorrow!
